چکیده
Abstract In vitro propagation of Plant Genetic Resources is a basic step for routine genebank and biotechnology research activities. Accelerating growth rooting in plants contributes to an improvement process efficiency plant quality. the present study effect supplemental thiamine explant size on biometric variables, ion content sap, chlorophyll leaves moisture were assessed replicated trial group seven sweetpotato accessions validated set other 45 accessions. It was shown that adding 0.1 mg L −1 modified Murashige Skoog culture medium significantly increased height, root length, number nodes shoot plants. No significant differences observed N0 3 − , K + Na Ca ++ —ion nor leaf area, chlorophyll, or between grown with without thiamine. Uninodal stem segments showed thiamine-free lower growth, reduced nodes, than from uni- binodal thiamine-supplemented medium. A subsequent experiment tested all parameters above non-replicated screen diverse With this germplasm, average length by 41 51%, respectively compared control treatment, confirming generally beneficial culture.

Antimutagenicity of sweetpotato (Ipomoea batatas) roots.
Antimutagenicity of the water extracts prepared from the storage roots of four varieties of sweetpotato with different flesh colors was investigated using Salmonella typhimurium TA 98. The extract from the whole roots of the purple-colored Ayamurasaki variety effectively decreased the reverse mutation induced not only by Trp-P-1, Trp-P-2, IQ, B[a]P, and 4-NQO but also by dimethyl sulfoxide extr...
متن کاملToxic Ipomeamarone Accumulation in Healthy Parts of Sweetpotato (Ipomoea batatas L. Lam) Storage Roots upon Infection by Rhizopus stolonifer
Furanoterpenoid accumulation in response to microbial attack in rotting sweetpotatoes has long been linked to deaths and lung edema of cattle in the world. However, it is not known whether furanoterpenoid ipomeamarone accumulates in the healthy-looking parts of infected sweetpotato storage roots. This is critical for effective utilization as animal feed and assessment of the potential negative ...
متن کاملDistributions, ex situ conservation priorities, and genetic resource potential of crop wild relatives of sweetpotato [Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam., I. series Batatas]
Crop wild relatives of sweetpotato [Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam., I. series Batatas] have the potential to contribute to breeding objectives for this important root crop. Uncertainty in regard to species boundaries and their phylogenetic relationships, the limited availability of germplasm with which to perform crosses, and the difficulty of introgression of genes from wild species has constrained...
متن کاملIsolation and Abiotic Stress Resistance Analyses of a Catalase Gene from Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam
As an indicator of the antioxidant capability of plants, catalase can detoxify reactive oxygen species (ROS) generated by environmental stresses. Sweet potato is one of the top six most important crops in the world. However, its catalases remain largely unknown. In this study, a catalase encoding gene, IbCAT2 (accession number: KY615708), was identified and cloned from sweet potato cv. Xushu 18...

3.5 ha of sweet potato were used to feed 30 crossbred Brahman bulls with an average weight of 184 kg and approximately one year old in an experiment to study the use of sweet potato in beef production. The five treatments were allocated to the experimental units in an unrestricted randomized block design. Treatments contained 0:100, 25:75, 75:25, 50:50 ant 100:0 ratios of tubers to sweet potato...
